Pros

Multiple blade options gives me versatility and the blades are really sharp right out of the box. Chip carving blade is a nice length with a comfortable handle. The strop provided is a good starter strop, not great but certainly good enough.

This is one of the best carving sets i have ever purchased. Bonus points for the dvd. The dvd is a nice feature since i'm always open to the chance to learn something.

This set is a great starter set of tools for the beginning carver. It has everything you will need to start carving masterpieces. Used them to do some relief carving on a kentucky rifle.

Andyou get a lot of cutting tools for the money. It's handy to have 2 handle types and a carving knife; and a sharpening system. With the pandemic giving me plenty of time, one needs to keep occupied.

These are by far the best and sharpest carving tools i have found. Which translates to them sharpening like razor blades.

Packaging/appearance

Put a little beeswax on the insertable end of the blade and now they glide in and out nice and easy.

The dear woodworker(tdw) really likes this kit: he appreciates that it is a kit & all pieces can be easily stored in the good-quality box.

Flexcut includes some band-aids which is a nice thingfor a carving set to have.

I just received my flexcut set and found it to be the best set on the market for the price!

Not a nubee to whittling and carving- i have quite a selection of veiners, gouges and skews.

After lifting most of the blades and wrangling it free i found that it was a convenient bandaid dispenser.
