The only reason we bought a replacement was because when we left this leash with the groomers we got it back and the cord had been cut so the internal spring mechanism had unwound

I like the original designs control button better than the newer design the newer model button is prone to being bushed accidentally when you are moving leash around your body where as the older unit does not give you the sudden unwanted lock up

I was trying to use a regular nonretractable leash with my beagle for couple of weeks before getting this one and only after i got flexi i realized how much worse of the experience it was to use regular leash vs

Only criticism is that while there is a button to stop any further leash from playing out the button does not lock so you cannot keep the leash at a shorter length unless you keep holding down the button
