This is perfect for walking my golden retriever. The soft side goes onto the leash, on whichever side you prefer. It is a tad on the heavy side and makes our large flexi leash even heavier.
It uses velcro so it's removable. Attaches to any retractable leash with a 3 diameter flat surface.
This does the jpb perfectly. It's easy to use, effective, and fairly slim so it doesn't get in the way. Also, the durability is fantastic!
Cons

Only used once a day for nighttime walks. It is useful for trying to find poop but that's about it. This item is very inefficient.

My westie chewed through her leash to free herself to chase squirrels and rabbits ive replaced the leash for daytime use but couldnt transfer the light so i tied an old nonretractable leash to the leash that broke so i can still use the light

If you leave the light on the leash all the time but the leash down on the nonlight side or it will turn on
