The locking mechanism isn't very strong, it has some give after locking it. Worries me that it will break after several uses. This thing is so tiny it's looks like a toy for a 5 year old.

I bought over 12 years ago, i had dropped it so may times by accident over the years and it was so durable!
The biggest drawback is that the handle is much too small to put all four fingers through it - unless you are a young child.
Very lightweight, easy for my chihuahua to pull out more leash as needed

I dont attach the lead directly to the dog collar i clipped it onto a nylon leash and i clip the leash to his collar

That way if i accidentally drop it it will only retract until it gets to the nylon leash and it wont zip all the way to him and smack him upside the head
