You have to pay attention to the diagram and the parts list to figure out that the 20mm (short ones) hold the base on the seat. The seat itself is 19 depth. It's a tight fit, but with a little pressure you can get the bolt holes aligned.

The chair is comfy and sturdy, and the wheels work nicely over carpeted (thin/medium length) or hardwood floors. The base is very solid and the casters are extremely secure and its swivels smoothly. Step attaching the wheels to the base and stand.

This chair is heavier than i thought (typically a good thing), and is relatively easy to put together. It takes 20 to 30 minutes from unboxing to set up and is very easy to assemble.
