    Since i glued up my own solid wood top my biggest worry is that the screws attaching the top to the frame would not have sufficient room for movement when the top expands or contracts so i only fasted the top using the two set of holes closest to the center leaving the farthest set unfastened

    I inserted a clamp over the outside of its hex shaft so the crank does not pass too far into the carrier tube and therefore under the table hence it now can go no further in than 1
