Pros & Cons
Pros
I leave the felxsolar bungeed on top of my kayak during the day and on a good day it will full up my battery half way.
The flexsolar 40w portable solar charger is an excellent portable power solution. It works as advertised--get them in the sun and they charge pretty fast. It’s extremely durable and has a coating similar to that of a basketball, yet it performs better... Read More
The holes make it plausible to find a way to put it up so it catches more sun at a nice angle. It unfolds and u place it in the direct sunlight if u have it.
The block is a 350w multifunction power block with ac converter for 110v output. Usb-c, usb-2/3 and 12v coaxial. It spits out the most power from that connection so get yourself a 100w c to c cable.
Cons
The battery charging is incredibly slow. Also think it messed up my battery pack as it won't charge anymore.
Highlights
Quality
This solar panel is very robust and does a great job charging my battery pack.
I got this because it is light weight, simple design, durable, versatile, and has enough power for 12 volts, not just a phone charger.
40000 mah, 154 watt hour battery fully charged in 6 hours even though the panel ended up in the shade as the sun moved around.
First off, i will say that any solar panels need to be angled perpendicular to the sun to produce their maximum output, without... Read More
Price
For the price, totally worth it, since it can be used many many times, in many applications.
If it was a true 40 watt, it would be worth the full price, but it's not so it's not.
Bank was at 23% and charged to 100% in approx 5 hours on a mostly sunny day.
On sale for $72 good deal for 40watts.
Shipping
Updated: customer service was super helpful and replaced my defective solar panel!
Packaging/appearance
I unboxed it, laid it out on the patio, and it charged up my reserve battery just fine.
A bit heavy to pack but probably worth it for a group.
