The pocket fits my iphone xs with the case on.

I wear size 33 waist shorts, but i went with the medium (29-32) flipbelt.

Also, some people might find it uncomfortable the water bottle hitting the spine, i suggest buying two 6oz bottles instead on one 11oz.
