You have to be careful as you're dropping leaves into the mouth as it will jam up. It runs at a significantly higher rpm and is chewing up a lot more than tender grass.

The stand is two pieces that join right at the mid-point where it rests on the ground. I love the little drawer that stores extra strings on board. The string is easy to change--no winding on a spool.

Cons

I have my leaves ready to shred and nothing to shred them with. The shaft spinning inside it melts it and it becomes useless, cant be fixed.

Top “feeder” is a plastic piece of * that doesn’t attach properly. It was warped right out of the box, and won't attach. Screws for assembly were cheap and prone to stripping.

Very poo customer service. Customer service dept has a lot of potential for improvement. This product is cheaply made.

Whoever wrote this manual is an idiot. And in my book, the power switch is reversed.

It is true you have to keep an eye on sticks, but with the heavier string i find that small twigs will go through it okay.

Gouging on shipping is such poor customer service that when we replace this we will look at other companies that make these.

Packaging/appearance

" light-weight and maneuverable, i was able to move the flowtron to the leave piles easily and quickly.

We lined this with a plastic bag, and the leaf mulcher fits securely into the basket.

It does not shred sticks so you need to get those out before putting your leaves into the flowtron.

Competitiveness

This is my second flowtron purchase; the first lasted about 10 years of intermittent use.

I just managed to get ahold of a flowtron leaf eater.

My first flowtron motor burned up after about 7 years of hard service.

If assembling it was an event in the special olympics, the record would probably be about two minutes.
