When first plugged in it starts broadcasting on its last used radio frequency which is shown on the lcd and tries to pair with the last used device if it falls to connect via bluetooth it will make itself available for pairing

With regards to the bluetooth connection for mobile phones we found the sound to be not quite as clear but not sure if that is down to the mobile signal or the unit itself

That said it still functions and conversation can be held but not always crystal clear
