At maximum output the bulbs get very hot which is not a normal occurance with these bulbs at half output the bulbs put out a normal amount of heat

I would warn that adding this item to between your light and your e26 lightbulb will significantly raise where the lightbulb sits in height this may be a factor if your light has a shade
