Pros
Be sure to label and date your item for easy identification. I have never been disappointed with any of their products. Love this brand.
These bags are great for sous vide cooking. Seems to keep foods protected in the freezer better and buying the roll is much more economical.
I often repackage meats, poultry and fish. I brown ground beef with onion and vacuum seal in 1lb pkgs. As long as moisture hasn't gotten into the seal, they always hold when using the foodsaver brand.
Cons
Tried it a half a dozen times to no avail. Not as advertised. Very unhappy with this product very thin.
The machine just creates a vacuum in its chamber and switches to'seal' mode. It appears to seal, then air creeps back in after several minutes. The peel and seal bags are terrible.
They are 1/4 narrower, the texture is different, and they are a lighter weight. How thick is the sheeting made of? The materials must be defined. I wish they were thicker or something, because this is very frustrating!
I suspect they are a counterfeit. It seems like others are describing the entire sealable bag product lineup. Box says foodsaver but made with one side of bag clear and smooth inside and out, like off-brand, skylab.

Price
These can usually be pretty expensive, but these are a great price for how much you get!
The cost of food is so outrageous now, and i now buy in bulk and use the sealer bags to freeze the food i process.
They are expensive, no doubt about it, but they are smooth and flat on the roll.
The price was reasonable at the time of this purchase.
Packaging/appearance
To the rescue comes the vacuum packing, food saver system.
Competitiveness
We vacuum pack a lot of items and this is the only brand we use.
Good cheaper alternative to brand name bags.
I find that these seal better and leak less than cheaper brands.
We tried a couple different brands and always have come back to food saver

I rarely have freezer burn on my meat or veggies

The sealed bags prevent freezer burn and so there is very little that spoils before i can use it which also saves money
