My grandmother has one, and it works amazing!
Get rid of freezer burn and ice crystalization.
There is an area in the back of the machine for the roll but it is hard to grab and feed through to the front to cut and seal.
Packaging/appearance
Bought the canisters as well, which are great for keeping produce fresh in the fridge.
Competitiveness
It works once you figure out a way to do it but i am sure other models of the foodsaver may be easier.

Theres a little bit of a learning curve in creating the bags but once you have that youre golden

If you are trying to hold the bag into the vacuum then you have to use both hands to press down the bar to get the machine started and that is kind of hard to juggle
