Pros

The book itself was well written with no (noticeable) errors. The audiobook version is really good too. There's no crazy information dump—it's done artfully.

The closest i can think of is leigh bardugo’s grisha series. This series is a kind of twilight meets game of thrones combination.

Her sassy attitude is one of the many things i enjoyed reading and loved about her character. This is about an ex * and her new companions. More specifically this is about our heroine finding out exactly the power she possess and it is dark!

Quinn and lazarus are elective together. Quinn signs her name with a magical pen on lazarus and he her for her to give 5 years of her life as a vassal to lazarus. Lazarus is tall, dark and *.

Cons

The supporting characters are forgettable because they are nothing more than names. We really have no background on lazarus at all other than tiny tidbits being handed out infrequently. The magic is weird. Yuck, yuck, yuck.

It was easy to get sucked into the world and become involved with the characters and the intrigue.

I’m looking forward to continuing the story with the other books!

I absolutely love how unique this book is with the characters, their powers, and all.

It could have easily been a five-star read if there was less telling and more showing.

Read it if you like a little darker flawed characters and slow burn romance

Especially because it happened because quinn one of the main characters was determined for answers and wouldnt give up

It could have easily been a fivestar read if there was less telling and more showing

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

Other than that i loved the story and the characters and enjoyed how information was revealed bit by bit so we dont get the full picture until the ending

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

The climax was a little too shortlived and if not a longer ending it could have used an epilogue

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

And please dont have the heroine change in the next books unless its to show her more murderess side

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

Even though these characters are clearly no heroes they never cross that line like that some villain books do
