Pros & Cons

Pros

The screw mechanism is so much smoother then the olympia even when it was new. There were a great many sharp metal wire/whiskers all over the moving jaw from the milling/machining process.

The vice has a good heavy weight to it so for sharpening chains saws and mower blades and axes i don't even have to bolt it down. The swivel lockdowns allow a slight back-off on the vice. The vice feels really well built.

Great color though. Best bang for the buck. Got this for my bf brother. He loves it and constantly raves about how great it is.

Strong, versatile, & it fits the small space on my bench. I like that it pivots all the way and has two screws to keep it from turning when i don't want it to. At its compact size and ability to swivel, it is a welcome additon to our arsenal.

Cons

Mounted with a ¼” clearance to the front of the workbench resulted in not being able to suspend things below the bench. It doesn't use the standard quarter turn locks, you actually have to thread the keepers out several turns to rotate the head. The j...  Read More

Very unsatisfactory overall. Will be returning and finding something else. If quality control is this bad then i’d avoid all their products and just go with a more reputable name.

Quality

Time will tell but i feel that this is a very solid and well made vice that i expect will last many years.

Solid smooth, so far, it’s working great!

Bought the 4” vise to replace a 5” olympia vise that actually broke while we were working with 1 1/2” dom pipe.

I lubed the main screw with wheel bearing grease, cleaned off some excess casting slag and reassembled the vise.

Price

It's not a wilton but the price is right.

I didn’t want to spend a fortune on a vice so i settled on this one hesitantly.

Shipping

Not sure if this happened prior to shipping, or in transit, but.

Packaging/appearance

There's no way i can physically package it back up and return it, so i guess i will have to suck it up.

Nothing like giving pre smashed gifts for a gift!

Competitiveness

It is solid and well built, a 100 times better than a six inch vice that i bought at a popular box store.

The vise is almost a double for the old craftsman vise from sears.
