Picture quality is very clear and sharp and being ‘alexa’ compatible is an added bonus.

I simply scanned the qr code using the foscam app and there it was.

Power is provided by a micro-usb connection and a mains power supply & cable are also included in the box.
Very easy to set up using the short cat5 network cable provided in the box.
Only a basix 30-day trial of cloud storage which can be subscribed to.
I have used quite a few foscam cameras now.

One new feature that is really good fo getting the best angle is the addition of the swivel on the camera mounting are with the old fixed type occasionally the angle would be compromised but now you can adjust it absolutely spot on

Foscam’s movement detection has been good and you could set it up to avoid false alarms but this took a bit of time and adjustment to get it right but the new human detection is a revelation no need to exclude and detection areas and it’s false alarm free so far

Picture quality is very good and it deals with high contrast very well i’ve put a picture up from when i was setting it up to show how good it isyou can record to the foscam cloud or to a sd card if you buy and install one

As a lower end camera in the range it doesnt feature optical zoom

Ive given the camera 4 stars because in of itself the camera is actually quite nice the picture quality is good the night vision is great but as with all ir cameras it falls foul of the age old problem where you cant use ir through glass

Heres why when doing a wifi test the camera fails every time if you have a ltspacegt in your wifi name ssid this was a real pain as my wifi ssid did have a space in it for whatever reason this camera really struggled with that so in the end i ended up having to make a guest network just for the camera this is not a well documented problem and its not obvious thats the reason for the failure of the wifi test very annoying
