In general setup was easy to get the basics going but the real disappointment was that foscam is really trying to force all configmanagementfootageaccess through their cloud service

Their old products never had this which made them great for diy security designs but it would seem thats now a thing of the past

I should also note im a security professional by trade so my requirements for this camera were quite specific and my knowledge of securityprivacy and the internet of things iot is higher than the average user

If youd prefer your camera to be hidden so that burglars dont steal the camera and the sd card of the footage along with it then youll need to run without ir turned on con mac address listed on the back of the device is not actually its mac address so it was tricky to get it set up on a static dhcp address more on this in firmware below con image and video quality is surprisingly bad for a hd camera
