Pros

The high resolution somewhat makes up for this as you have the option of zooming the image for more detail. The night vision is excellent even depending on home's exterior lights (disabling the ir leds) it's not water resistant but i did mount it outs... Read More

First camera was bricked by its own firmware update. Many iterations of testing with suggestions from tech support. In a world where actual helpful tech support has become rare, this is much appreciated and keeps me loyal to their brand.

The r4 is by far the most compact and best looking of the various lines to date. Out of the six i own, only one is the updated version but the improvements came just in time. This is the sharpest yet.

Foscam allows you to set up a camera on a pc without having to download browser plugins. A companion app for bi is also available. Can download foscam app on your phone and setup the cameras easily.

Cons

The image is not as good as people make it out to be, and mine is hardwired. The speaker is useless, and someone has to be close to the mic to actually hear what is being said clearly. The manufacturer's support is absolutely useless.

Wifi performance is slow. Sometimes when i adjust the camera settings it just disconnects. Couldn't understand tech, choppy connection, dropped connection.

One issue for me is late motion alerts, or in some cases motion alert at all. Had the problem with another foscam outdoor cam too.

Instructions are poor and there is no direct support easily available (send them an email and wait for a reply) have returned for a refund.

Additionally, the hd picture quality is outstanding.
