Pros & Cons
Pros
Uv filter works great as a lens protect for zuiko, sigma, canon or nikon. Completes the look of zeiss and leica silver chrome lenses without compromising function. Lens still renders high res photos, this is my protection layer if you will.
This filter seems to do the job well, especially for its sub-$10 price. Nothing wrong with it function-wise.
The rim is slimmer than most brands. There were no visible blemishes on the glass.
Cons
The 39mm step-up ring does not attach securely to the 39mm filter. It just spins and does not tighten. Since the step- up ring attaches to the lense securely this tells me the outside threads of the filter are not exact or are defective.
I exercised care when combining the filters, so it's not user error. Went with a hoya pro filter instead for sixty bucks. It was refunded by amazon.
Highlights
Quality
The filter is lightweight and seems well made.
Slim, light weight metal, the threads are precision milled and have always meshed smoothly.
I noticed they were degrading photo quality and creating big spots on my photos.
The surface has a yellowish-green reflection, indicating mc coating.
