Pros

Metal hoods are great for lenses that didn't come with other options. Needed this for two of my 49mm threaded 50mm lenses. Can also be used to protect nikon lenses from scratches. Can be used on any lens with a threaded lens or a threadedlense.

The black string is for keeping the hood cap to be attached to the camera strap ring so that we don’t lose it when it is taken off the hood. With this kind of setup, the cap is right at the end of the hood—instant on, instant off.

Pentax super takumar is stm lens. D lens. Smc takumar. G nikkor. It’s a solid hood. A super lens.

Cons

The product description is somewhat inaccurate. The circle covers the corners of the frame. Really would have only taken another 2mm diameter to fix this.
