Pros & Cons
Pros
This is very sturdy. Great value for a great kitchen gadget. Great find as these cannot be found at kitchen gadget stores. Works fantastic for that!
The butter slicer saves a lot of time cutting butter in dough making process. Much better than slicing one piece at a time with a wire slicer or knife. While great for slicing butter, it is amazing at slicing a brick of cheese!
Cons
If you put this in your dishwasher, it turns a chalky black finish. This as after 1 wash in the dish washer, put it into a drawer until next time. I recommend finding one that is plastic or stainless steel.
Highlights
Quality
Was concerned about the quality when replacing a vintage cutter, but the replacement works great.
This slicer works great on block cheese.
Price
We looked at purchasing butter pats but quantity and cost was a lot more than we needed and wanted to pay.
Competitiveness
I use it to slice a 8oz block of cheese for club crackers.
