Loyd and joan. Works well. Totally appreciated by the xmas gift recipients. Its a beautiful box that i can customize however i like.
The bagel cutter holds the bagel steady for an even cut. I just wish it were slightly taller so that the knife was guided from higher up. Also, watch your fingers while cutting!
Cons
The bagel holder is not tall enough for typical bagel. It is also too wide in my opinion. The actual dimensions are 3 wide x 2 7/8 high x 5 1/4 long. Width is 2. Inches and length is about 5 inch.
Bagels extend well beyond the sidewall of the block of wood and offers no support of safety for cutting the bagel. In looking for a bagel cutter one needs a little more than just a small wooden box with appropriately placed cuts in the wood.
