One caveat as described in the manual is that you have to turn the dial to 55 minutes and then turn it back to the time you want

If you try to use this as a traditional mechanical timer by just moving it from 0 to the desired setting it will start ticking but the alarm wont ring

The circular magnetic mount is plenty powerful at least when it comes to keeping the timer stuck to the oven hood

This isnt a huge problem usually but there have been times while stirring a culdron filled with a green reeking potion for example where being able to set the thing onehanded would be a welcome option

Looks sharp works well ringsbuzzes loudly then stops after an appropriate interval

The timer is not as accurate as our digital but it makes a good second timer
