But one of my favorite parts was the fascinating social history of how fraternities began in america then dwindled then rose again in large part to the picture of college life portrayed in the movie animal house and then to alcohol companies’ advertisements

Alexandra robbins doesn’t sugarcoat the racism misogyny and alcoholfueled life of many fraternities but neither does she demonize the men who seek out fraternities or the women who join sororities
