Infuseer is made of silicone and is easy to hand wash. But borosilicate is designed to handle quick temp changes, and not crack or break.

Holes are too large for loose tea and do come with a mess screen or liner to prevent the tea from seeping out into the water. It's an adorable novelty, but if you actually want to make tea, use a regular metal tea jobbie.
