Pros & Cons

Update Pros and Cons

Pros

Having to buy two blades (crosscut and rip) but in the end it was well worth the costs for the quality of the cuts. It cuts easily and without chipping. The coating on the blade stops wood from burning or binding.

I have a decent compound miter saw that i use frequently for diy projects. I make furniture using honduran mahogany and poplar. Cuts smooth on hardwood plywood on radial arm saw.

Love it. It is incredible. Freud blades are simply amazing.

Cons

The anti-vibration slots seem to be defective. This thing wobbles in my sawstop contractor's saw. My experience says bad carbide.

Quality

I was able to get as good a quality of cut from this mid-priced blade as i was from a much more expensive forrest blade.

This blade has a smooth buttery cut and i have not had one problem with the veneer layers coming off.

I was having problems with the outside layers cracking and coming off with my other blades.

End grain feels like it’s been sanded right off the tablesaw.

Competitiveness

Replaced the stock blade on my new bosch 10" glide saw and wow what a differance it made.

I have been more than impressed with it's performance.

But, i can't even tell when i'm cutting a pressure treated 2x6.

It started service in a $99 big box table saw, and now resided in a powermatic model 64.

Gums up a bit quick only had the blade for a couple weeks and only cut a little bit of pine but a single board of walnut and the teeth were showing sap buildup already on the sides

Tried to use it to cut lapjoints but the teeth make a valley and dont produce a flat clean groove

So i set it to 30 and cut and flipped the board over and cut again and i got my arrow end

Anyhow checked my throatplate and noticed that the blade had either flexed or leaned toward the throat plate because i saw teeth marks on the edge of the lip opening

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

I never pressed on the blade in that directions always in the cutting direction only and all my cuts were still clean

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

So not sure if its because its a thin kerf that makes it flexible in that way

Anyhow plan on eventually doing a zero clearance throat plate as well
