The dadoing is just too tight on the plywood i tend to have access to in my area. The shanks aren't accessible. The only way to remove them is to grab the sharp part of the bit itself.

I will likely go back to the tried true and tedious method of inching up on the proper fit with testcuts in twopasses with a smaller bit
