If the braiding ended before these rubber pieces this would be a weak part of the cable but the manufacturer didnt skimp

If im being picky the only issues i could come up with and i had to try are these gold plating on usb housings does nothing

The housing carries no signal and although the pins are goldplated as well this confers no speed or efficiency advantage over usb cables without gold plating
