Pros & Cons
Pros
Kudos to frigidaire for thinking outside the box. Works perfectly. The alexa skill suffices. The wifi works great.
I have more space to cool than what it is spec'd for and it just takes a while after turning it on when super muggy out. It cools very quickly.
Overall, i like the unit - pricey, but it works for what i need and it's fairly quiet. I know 12,000 btu is overkill but this room gets extremely hot in summer. It’s also a lot quieter than a wynter model i have downstairs.
Cons
This is not the frigidaire of days gone by - it is now owned by electrolux ab, a swedish multinational home appliance manufacturer. The thermostat is not very accurate. It barely cools the room at the highest setting.
The packaging is the worst i've ever seen for an item weighing 100 lbs. There was not packing to protect the unit inside and nothing to support the bottom. Good luck if you’re not physically fit, it’s very heavy.
Remote control is not backlit. Looks sleek, but doesn't work. App is abysmal.
The instructions for drainage on the cool mode are as follows and a bit confusing. There’s no way to hook up drain hose for running ac. C. Perhaps they do a better job with vacuum cleaners?
Highlights
Quality
Great design, easy install and the wi-fi feature has been very useful.
Works great and room stays nice and cold.
It is big and heavy and because of the substantially bulky hose it doesn't fit right up against a window.
The instruction says let the coolant to settle for at least 24 hours before turning it on after any kind of moving.
Price
Sad for something that costs so much.
They are expensive, but you get what you pay for.
I guess it fits my needs, but was kind of expensive and takes up unexpected space.
Shipping
It was damaged slightly in shipment, but nothing functional.
I bought this elsewhere just because of the shipping time & the availability of someone to help carry up this 85 lb beast up tw... Read More

Ive had this unit for about six months now

The cloth sleeve for the venting tube looks good but i dont think it offers much real insulation the unit would be more efficient with insulation wrapped around the tube

The remote does the job though it generally takes two pushes of any button to get a change to take one to turn on the display of the unit then after that you can push or to change the target temperature change the mode or fan speed or turn it off

The circular design is another unusual aesthetic but its also impractical you have to look at the remote to tell which way to point it to control the unit

I have it working but its really only good for adjusting temperature and turning the unit off

The fan is louder when its running at a higher speed of course but the condenser doesnt add much noise to that when it kicks on

In regular mode it should be fine for a bedroom but in economy mode the unit switching on and off through the night would make it harder to sleep economy mode shuts the fan off except for occasional temperature checks then it turns the fan and condenser on if it needs to cool

Dehumidifying mode seems to work well but im in florida so its hard to tell if theres much difference between that and the regular cooling mode
