For those who love to crunch and chew ice, it's pretty much the bomb! This newer model has a few improvements over the old, most notably for us. My wife wants to buy another if it performs as well as this for the first year.

Ice gets stuck near the sensor, so all you have to do is move the ice,and warm up the sensor with your fingers. Clean it up every two to three days to avoid any mildew build up. Can store more than 2 lbs at a time before you need to empty it.

It leaks substantially from the bottom somewhere. It produces only 6-8 small cubes every 18 minutes. The add water sensor seems stuck and won't let the unit run. The other sensor is the ice full sensor.

It's a hassle to even use that protection plan. It's been in use for about a month and the flavor of the ice has not improved.
