I used aluminum duct tape to cover the ends before i installed the fan suggest that anyone installing this unit do the same
I also had a vent installed under the counter so that was easy
It was a very easy install and it works great
It works about as good as any down draft can ive never been a fan of downdraft since i had one in a jennair some years ago
