You literally have to drink half the bottle down in order to insert the rod without the beer foaming to the top. They are not, the whole thing goes into your beer bottle and there's a lip on it that you drink out of.
Product design is inefficient and not only a waste of time. The concept is a great idea but they did not keep your beer any colder. It's a good gift idea but doesn't exactly work as advertised.
