Pros
Worked as advertised. The only gripe i have is the ease at which it flattens out.
Cons
The foam floats to the top when the sealant is poured. It actually is very, very flimsy and thin. Would actually pop out because of how thin and flimsy.
Highlights
Quality
I had no issues using this product.
Its a high quality solid core noodle-like foam.
The only problem was not with the caulk saver, but with trying to use a single sized rope for gaps that were all different sizes.
Price
Did it's job and price was the same as lowe's if they were not out of stock.
Packaging/appearance
Was able to even cut it down the length for thinner situations.
Competitiveness
For gaps much larger than 3/8, i twisted the rope into basically a 2-ply ribbon, and used that for a pretty acceptable result.

The boards were installed with no gaps but through the winter the boards dried more and gaps appeared

For some gaps that were a lot smaller than 38 i had to cut the rope in half using a mat knife
