Pros

I bought these lenses with my own mony. Gm and the 85mm 1. Lense. The only downside of this one is the built quality.

The bokeh, if that is important to you, is fantastic, if a little octagon-shaped when you zoom way in. Very pleasing bokeh.

Focus throw is smooth. Auto focus is very responsive. Tried af on animals and people, never struggled.

It simply performs exceedingly well. It gives me a long reach with my a6400 (approx 127mm focal length) this lens it’s a great combo with the a7r iv!

Shipping

Delivered on time, in great shape and so far does well in night and daytime shots.

They were not provided by sony, or loaned to me by sony, in hopes of generating any type of commission of youtube income.

My lens arrived without damage, but i worry about if someone orders and there is careless delivery drivers.

Packaging/appearance

The lens was in its sony box and that box was just put into a paper bubble mailer, not enough cushion.

Not even a padded envelope or a box!

My number one complaint is how this was packaged.

Competitiveness

Probably the most affordable g lens from sony, with excellent performance that can compare with g master lens.

Not as expensive as the gm version and just as great.

As sharp as gm lenses that cost 3-4 times as much!

However, the build quality is not bad by any means but not as good as the gm.
