Pros & Cons

Pros

Autofocus a bit, but that's a sony box, not lens issue. Love this lense. One thing i noticed is when using this lens on a7m3 is that the af are not so accurate, so i just use it on mf.

This is the cheapest sony lens you can get with an f/1. Sony makes a lot of nifty 50s, but this is the only one that you can buy for the price of lunch at trio. This nifty fifty lens does the job. On the new sony bodies this lens is fantastic.

The lens is compact and lightweight. I love that it’s lightweight and not bulky, which makes it a perfect traveling lens.

Great for astrophotography, automotive photography, and portraits. Photos always come out looking crisp and clear with that classic bokeh look. This is the lens that should be in every photographer's bag.

Cons

The chromatic aberration is the worst i've ever seen. Was great for 1 month, than start making weird noise while filming video and use autofocus. You certainly get what pay for but i bought this lens for indoor simple pictures.

Quality

Very good aperture range makes it very versatile.

Great lens … i so love the quality

Each time the lens focused, the motor seemed to reset itself and then move, causing very loud noise, and i almost initiated a return.

It is slow and the motors are loud.

Price

For the price this is a great full frame 50 mm lens!

It's incredible how well it works given the price point.

For the price, it’s a good lens

Professional review sites give this lens so-so reviews but for the price it does a good job.

Shipping

The lens came very quickly, no dents no scratches.

I don’t go that far but they have a unique property where they can have a depth of field that keeps the subject in focus but blurs things behind it
