We've used a furminator grooming tool on our two australian shepherds for years and love it.

As the brush rubs against the side of the cylinder hairs are supposed to collect in the back of the device

You just clean the fur out of it rather than peeling off layers of sticky tape

The weird thing is to remove the collected hair you rotate the dial but the cylinder turns and only exposes like 18th inch of the brush not the whole brush to clean
