Pros & Cons
Pros
This brush is a game changer. The picture shows how much hair i got off him in about 1/2 hour of brushing. He likes the $12 model with the rubbery-tipped teeth because he uses it to rub his face and jowls on.
The furminator works exceptionally well and the cats enjoy being brushed. My cat demands a lot of treats while i'm brushing her with this, but it's 100% worth it.
If you have a cat that sheds primarily from the undercoat, you need one of these. My cat is a teeny fluff ball who also gets frequent hairballs. Used on 2 short hair cats.
Cons
The teeth on the tool are rougher on the fur. After about 5-8 brushes, you have to clean the fur out to make it work again. The plastic tabs on the sides of the comb extend beyond the comb making it impossible for the comb to reach the hair.
Highlights
Quality
Our first use and i am very happy with the product and the quick delivery.
The amount of fur i was able to remove from my cat with the furminator was enough to fully coat 2 adult sphynx cats.
I was really looking for a high quality brush to collect the massive amounts of fur into one spot to stop the spread before it happened.
I cannot believe how much hair came off of our cat— that we just brushed with the $5 bush from any pet store.
Price
The price tag might understandably make you skeptical but trust me when i say that it's worth the extra cost.
My mom recommended this brush and i was hesitant to spend $30 on a cat brush, but it is well worth the cost.
Because of the price, i really, really hesitated with this purchase.
Competitiveness
I have a 15lb ragdoll so brushing is always challenging.
I have tried many different brushes at many different prices, including some cheaper ones that claim to be a furminator alterna... Read More
I saw someone on youtube using a furminator for dogs, and searched for a cat model right away.
It works well on my other cats, but i find that a two sided dematting comb & deshedding tool works better on my two voluptuous cats.
