The fabric is soft, smooth, and stretchy. The comfort and lightweight feel are 100% worth the trade.

Bought these shin guards for my petite, 12 year old son. Having the shin guard connected to the sleeve makes it easy for kids (mine is 7yo) and they stay put when running a lot. Needed shin guard for my hikes in the woods.

These are easier to put on than the ones with straps. They fit really well under a pair of pants and keep your calves cool. They are a little hard to get off when sweaty.

Care is easy as you can dump them in the wash and lay them out to dry. No signs of wear after heavy use and washing. Most importantly for me, they also really hold up to frequent machine-washings.
