Pros & Cons
Pros
These are lightweight, flexible, and super comfortable. They're a little hard to pull on and harder still to take off sweaty legs, but i still prefer these to other types of guards. The comfort and lightweight feel are 100% worth the trade.
Care is easy as you can dump them in the wash and lay them out to dry. Most importantly for me, they also really hold up to frequent machine-washings.
My smallish 6-year-old (about 47 tall, 48 lb) needs to move into a l/xl, though they're a little long on him. The l/ xl fit my 8-year old (about 51 tall, 50-ish lb) perfectly. My daughter is 57 inches and she is 70 pounds in the s/m ones.
Cons
Love the functionality of the product hate the qualtity. Have the right mind to sue for a faulty product. My son complains about these being too thin.

He has to twist them around and then have somebody help to remove them

If i had to do it over again i would probably prefer a more typical strap system rather than the sockbased application
