Pros

The very tiny holes in the coating appear to be a manufacturing necessity. Easy to lift.

Cons

One end flops and will eventually break the plastic coating. Replacement dumbbell appears that it will also be breaking soon. I am a petite female, and they were somewhat awkward to hold as they are thick in circumference.

Maybe they resend the damaged products to other customers figuring they may just keep them. This product should be removed from the shelves or sales.
