Wavebird comes with batteries, which is good because you will want to use it right away. Downside one is the use of batteries, but if they're going to last 100 hours, who cares? It has a battery life of about 15 continus hours.
The wavebird works flawlessly with no interference, even if i close the cabinet door on the entertainment center or someone is standing or sitting between the controller and gamecube. Range on these is amazing as is the battery life. The range has bee... Read More
The only drawback of the wavebird is its lack of rumble. I happen to like the rumble, but i have found that it sometimes hampers my gameplay.
The controller has a similar feel to its tethered relatives. The wavebird has the same ultra-comfortable feel of the regular controller, with no lag whatsoever in button response time.

Spend $99 on a gamecube and get a couple of these controls.
If you have a gamecube, give up the [$] and get yourself a solid piece of gaming equipment.
Packaging/appearance
Arrived in good condition, no sticky buttons or latency, and absolutely great battery life.
The box says 20, but the controller goes 30, 50, and people have claimed even 100 feet sometimes.
There is one thing that i found lacking in it though, and that was the absence of a rumble pack.
Competitiveness
Overall, this controller is much better than the normal, even though they're both awesome.
The wavebird really is one of the best controllers out there, second only to the dualshock 2 and the standard gamecube controller.
There hasn't been a control this superior to all others since the nes advantage came out 20 years ago.
And it's the same price as other controllers.

Downside two is the rumble feature sure you dont need it for most games but in starfox staff rumbles near secret and zelda windwaker rumbles for everything it can prove a huge disadvantage
