If you can use these (versus staples) they are great. You need the specific application for these but if you have it they will work great for you i'm sure.
Strong and not prone to breakage. Only complaint is that the internal separators can't handle too much before bending. Easy to use, sturdy, and keep the cables from bunching up inside the clip.
Cons
The gardner bender #mcs-20w 20pk wood stud staple is flimsy, could be much better. All the dividers are not the same length, latch is not stiff enough and flexes.

I have no idea why they are not universally used they are not very expensive and a lot less work than individually stabling cables and can hold a lot more cables in limited space

I havent tried them on metal studs but they have a screw for that
