Pros

Once you scrape off the excess, it is 5,000% easier to use. Inexpensive too. My favorite hair color product is garnier's nutrisse.

This product works great for covering gray hair between coloring. Most gray coverage hair dye treatments require you to rinse out your hair after you dye it.

You shake the little pod, uncap it, dab the black ink over the gray area and let it dry. My favorite has a brush much like an eyelash brush; it separates the hairs and deposits color on all of them.

Cons

Flimsy sponge deposits almost no color. It leaves waxy dark flakes in your hair even after washing. Product is too thick and messy.
