Pros

The instructions for how to install the belt are a bit tricky to decipher on the belt's inner carton. It is possible to get the belt on and off with a bit of muscle and with a 1 inch width nylon strap.

Cons

It makes the car idle way down until it's about to die when the a/c compressor kicks on. Had to replace it with an oem subaru belt. It's a stretch fit belt but it is too tight.

Im not sure i believe the gates video when they show you how to use the tool and claim that the ac stretch belt is designed to wear away at the same rate as your regular serpentine belt

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

The ac belt while it does spin as much and is shorter than the serpentine belt only has load on it when the ac compressors clutch is engaged

Fortunately its so easy a caveman can do it

I do have my gripes about the use of stretchfit belts that ill address below

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

First off the old tensioner pulley design on quite a few of the older model cars had in my opinion a bad tensioner design

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

This would cause unnecessary strain to the tensioner and subsequently they wind up with customers who get damaged tensioners

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

Instead of redesigning one that applies tension perpendicularly 90 degrees to the belt subaru decides to slap on these stretch fit belts

There are universal ones that wont work
