Pros

It comes with a motorized water shutoff valve that you have to install on your incoming hard water pipe before the softener system.

Easy to install & works well. Installation and use manual is clear and concise. Attached harness, runs great.

Reconditioned, great value. Decent replacement for a disappearing and difficult to find product at this price range. I buy bags for under $9 at my big box orange colored home improvement store.

Cons

The service call fee makes it almost not worth fixing. They are a greedy corporation who puts profit before people. Now that’s what i call greedy!

The system in the box was damaged. I assume it needs o rings replaced but can't find a kit to rebuild it. Correct part arrives but he doesn't communicate the repair date.

After install, i got soft water/hard water 50/50 after two hours, i didn't do a water heater flush.

It takes the bleach taste out of our city water and uses very little salt - a lot less than our previous conditioner.

Price

No customer support unless i want to pay hundreds of dollars for a softener i paid $760 for brand new!

Instead i went with "soft water supply 7254260" for $50 to make the connection.

For perspective, i spent about $900 on pipes and fixtures for a small 2 bedroom 1 bathroom house.

This could get quite expensive since copper is not cheap.

Amazon delivery was great - arrived on schedule and the delivery personnel brought it inside our garage.
