Door has two different on settings - chime & alarm. The chime is perfect and heard throughout the house. Chime sound is not as loud but can still scare pets.

Alarm is loud enough to be a good deterrent. It is shockingly loud, but that’s what i wanted! They know if makes noise so mommy will wake up too.

There are 3-4 mini round batteries that scatter across the floor when it drops. The batteries are good but when the pieces are separated they no longer chime or alarm. It would cost more to replace the 4 button cell batteries then this thing costs.

This is the worst security system i've ever used. It dosnt do anything. People use them for alerts ok, but as an alarm deterrent, they are much less effective. Do not buy.
