Only 75 watts total from three bulbs on an outdoor carriage light

This is why they can only be used with incandescent lights

One of the problems that arises with them is that if the light or lights on the circuit burn out the current to the timer is interrupted making the timer appear to fail because the screen goes blank and the timer is unresponsive
Posted by a reviewer on Amazon
If that happens to you be sure that the bulbs on the circuit are all good before suspecting a faulty timer switch

It doesnt matter which wire you connect to which side of the switch
Posted by a reviewer on Amazon
The switch will fail if used to start any motors because of the extra current required
