Pros

Easy to install -- plugs fit perfectly -- although they provide ceramic wire caps just in case. Anyways. Quick and easy to install on my 10-yr.

Electrical connection heats an element that glows red hot. Works exactly as described. Fit perfectly, plugged right in and fired up.

Cons

The filament is too delicate for transit. You have to cut and modify your oven wiring to make it work. The wire gets too hot and burn through the shielded wires.

Perfect fit for my ge oven and preheats the oven quickly.

After only a couple years of use, my oven just stopped working.

The defective igniter, which worked on/off, was 330 ohms.

Price

Saved me $50 on the igniter and about $250 on the service call (i live in the boonies, ymmv).

I paid a premium for a ge oem part so it would last several years.

There's no telling how much a repairman would have cost but it would have been a whole hellava lot more.

For price premium, i feel it should last more than 6 months.

Took 9 days to receive the part.

Though we couldn't have the part shipped to us, a guest carried it over and we are looking forward to doing some baking again!

Competitiveness

I ordered a different cheaper brand this time and it works exactly the same.

Although i paid more for the ge oem, i feel that will give me longer performance over a cheaper knock off.
