You have to twist a bit and push down pretty hard to get it to click into place and you will know when it clicks

This one was low cost relative to other genuine bmw knobs fit perfect not one of the generic knobs with a random fit has a solid feel looks like original equipment

The only reason i gave it one less star was that it doesnt have the super tight click as it locks into place
