Pros

Tooth ratchet is buttery smooth. Ratchet is actually finer than my dual 80 snap-on ratchets.

If you still want cheaper, dewalt is the next best option. Every mechanic i know owns a gearwrench socket or wrench set, that's why the price has quadrupled in past 2-3 years. Mac tools makes the best but are priced more.

Craftsman deep sockets are generally broached to a depth of an inch or more. The gearwrench design gives you quite a bit more freedom of movement (slop) to latch on to a nut set all the way in on a long bolt in a hard-to-get-to place.

Cons

All the parts have numerous dings and dents and machining imperfections that are visible through the chrome plating. The chrome on the inside of the sockets is not smooth and very thin on the smaller sockets. Quite disappointing to see this design her... Read More

The ratchet action seems nice, but when i tried to use it for the first time, the ratchet kept switching into reverse. Gearwrench is marketed and priced as a more expensive and higher quality brand of tools.

Packaging/appearance

I've got three very large snap on boxes completely full of snap on tools.

Although i wish the box a had a handle and i wish the the box would keeps the nuts in place.
